Just check the measurements and details to make sure it will work for you.Build a playwood and stall mat platform, 2 x 3/4" thick, bolt it to that. The T3 is heavier duty. I have a jigsaw that I am going to get a metal cutting blade for and try to slice off the thick two in bar and see how that works. Bare with me.I had mine on bare concrete, diamond patterned stall mats, and finally bolted it down into concrete once I had the positioning just right. I guess it could be designed that way for stability. The only advantage i see for the T2 is not being required to bolt it down. Yet you seem to be overlooking rigidity and weight which both will help in the racks stability. Does it work unbolted?
Upon looking at the feet and seeing the X3 being almost identical but designed to sit flat, I really felt the T3 didn't belong with my other choices.What do you think if the Rep Fitness PR-1000? Just feels safer.But when it's hot as hell in my garage, I greatly enjoy the luxury of being able to roll the rack into my driveway and workout in the fresh air.There is a group of about five of us who come over to my house to do crossfit style workouts, being able to quickly get the stand out into the open is a tremendous benefit.But if I was solely a bench, squat, press kind of guy, and only working out in one space, I would stick with the rack. Do they well work in lieu of bolting down?They help a little... but still nothing compared to bolting down. Over labor day weekend I went ahead and picked up the Titan T3 squat rack v2. Now I put an asterisk here because even though the Titan website sells casters for the X3 squat rack, they work perfectly on the T3. You can alternatively bolt it into a platform, but otherwise another Titan or Rep Fitness rack may suit your needs better.ETA: or if allowed, you can bolt into concrete and patch when you move out.I have a T6 that I haven’t bolted down, zero issues sitting on stall mats.Biggest thing I found when I built mine before bolting it down was leave all the bolts relatively loose until you have it in the exact spot you want to use it. Nice, dude. Let it settle and working in opposites tighten it down. That will be plenty stable enough. What is the best somewhat affordable flat footed power rack that does not require being bolted I prefer to do heavy squats in my rack with the flip down safeties. They are out of stock on a lot of stuff right now though, so it looks like I will have at least another week or two to keep hunting.
