This should take about 1 hour, but can be up to 2 hours (keep an eye on it).Heat a heavy-bottomed frying pan on the stove until hot but not smoking.Moisten a paper towel with a little oil and carefully grease the base of the pan and crumpet (or pastry) rings measuring approximately 3 x 1 1/2 inches.Place one ring in the heated pan and pour in enough batter to fill just below the top of the ring.Cook for 5 minutes, until there are many tiny holes on the surface and the crumpet is setting.Flip the crumpet over (in the ring) and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.Adjust the temperature as needed. Service was great overall. I'd come back again.The food is good, but cleanliness is severely lacking. There's not much to say expect they make lovely sandwiches on your choice of bread for a very reasonable price and the service is very friendly. The place is immaculate, and the food is of very high standard. Its very casual - order, pay, and wait for them to bring your food while you sip on coffee or tea. Hot chocolate was just at the right temperature, with a sprinkle of powder choc on top. This is a great place to run in and have a bite to eat or sit and stay for a bit if you have more time.Great little place, excellent Americano coffee, hot chocolate, the jelly donuts were huge and delicious, they even heated it up for me. The spongy cakes are traditionally toasted and spread with butter.
