Youth on Course partners with golf courses to offer deserving high school students employment opportunities at no cost to the course.
What we do Golf teaches important social, mental, and physical skills and each round is filled with learning potential. Golfing facilities ranging from putting clocks to a pitch-and-putt course were constructed at the area’s various Veterans Administration hospitals.This work with veterans and active duty military continues today at both VA hospitals and golf courses throughout the Chicago District. Youth on Course membership offers access for youth golfers age 6-18 to rounds for $5 or less at participating courses. Any Youth on Course member can earn 15% off Tour Edge's amazing, high-performance and tech-filled junior and varsity complete sets and individual clubs.

In 2017, the program's first season in Illinois, 3,200 local Youth on Course members played 6,300 rounds of golf.
Through the subsidizing of greens fees, 380,000 rounds to date, courses lose little to no revenue and a major financial barrier is removed for young golfers.“One of the key pillars of our Chicago District Golf Association (CDGA) Foundation is to support a strong junior golf presence throughout the District,” says CDGA Executive Director Robert Markionni.
Youth. The price of Youth on Course membership in 2020 is $20, with the cost of the membership being applied back into the program. In celebration of the camper's accomplishments, the final session is comprised of on-course time (if facility allows), a cookout and an awards presentation. The CDGA Foundation has three pillars in which it focuses and fundraising is aimed towards: Sunshine Through Golf Camp Program More than 90 clinics each year for more than 1,200 individuals with special needs The Foundation sponsors all expenses associated with the camp within reason.After years of fundraising to support the military during World War I and World War II, the CDGA formally established Chicago District Golf Charities in 1944 as a means to assist returning World War II veterans.
