If you liked the anime, you should also check out Time Traveler, this was a live action movie was based on the same theme, not with so many time jumps though. I'm not going to go as far as to say that that's the reason since I have nothing else to pinpoint it, but I'd say there's definitely some impending doom. I'm not really sure.Hey, I just skimmed the net and figured out that there are lots of reoccurring theories...There are lots of implications that her aunt is the protag of the original book and thus, knows about time leaping.

Because he has all of his leaps back from the walnut thing, maybe he can come visit her now? She discovers that Chiaki's last leap inadvertently restored her own final time leap.

Today for Hosoda Month, I present a review of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time!

Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts Most of what we know about his future is that the painting is gone and it appears that his world is post-apocalyptic (fewer people, nature, no baseball et cetera)...and that's where I want to start my personal thoughts.

So my question is, since Makota lives in the past relative to Chiaki as he came from the future, Makota is actually older than him, and both promises each other to meet in the future and possibly marry. I just saw the movie and now I'ma little confused.

He used his remaining time leap to prevent an accident, and thus was unable to return to the future. (Mind that I've written a whole 20 page paper on Nuclear Art internationally.) So i just watched the movie, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, which i had hesitated to watch as i heard it was sad. It is sad. Topic: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time ... Makoto is not her aunt. Basically, the whole school is talking and coming up with reasons for his disappearance. To subscribe to this RSS feed, copy and paste this URL into your RSS reader.

I'd also say that the painting is a sort of beacon of hope for certain people that apparently will be gone in the future unless preserved. Time stops. Looking at updated numbers of deaths (often obscured, because...obviously, the US didn't want them to look so bad as any winning nation in wars - don't take me as an offender now, please, I'm not trying to do that, I'm just stating a fact), the described future seems very much like a result of war with modern means. For both of them, it was a nice experience, but that's about it. Look, all of the events of this movie were clearly of Chiaki's design. Then Makoto leaps through time one last time to change things again and jumps in a time where Chiaki hasn't yet revealed that he came from future and Makota wanted him to express his feelings, finally Chiaki comes near her and whispers "I will meet you again". After that when Chiaki leaves that present World or maybe just disappeared a few girls are show gossiping about Chiaki marrying a girl older in age. And she had a last time leap left (after the time traveler saved their friend) so when she went back before breaking the walnut, she was able to give it back to him. That being the country that was hit by two nuclear bombs leads me to say that it's somewhat prone to catastrophe. )I also want to stress, though, that everyone seems to believe that Chiaki's time must be very, very far in the future. I wanna know if someone could explain few things at the end of the anime to me. The other asks "It's not something like his parents are getting a divorce?". She seems to be fine with not seeing her loved one again, though and I think that Makoto might eventually relent to that, too. Was auntie 'witch' the same as the lead character (Makato?)? Mainly two things. Chiaki hints that his era occurs after a catastrophe has decimated most of mankind. Right now, I think this might seem very far off, but...please let me talk a lil'. Chiaki disappears when time begins. Since it's a movie with a concept of Time travel and loops questions might come up.
