After all, the current bout of diplomacy with North Korea began thanks to him repeatedly extending an olive branch to Kim even during the days of “fire and fury.” However, Seoul has avoided the role of mediator between Washington and Pyongyang except in times when their diplomatic exchanges have slowed down or even almost collapsed.
