It's nothing extremely special but it's a meat pie. No matter what you order, this should always be the experience you have, and your concerns are something that I'll be looking into right away. This place was on our way out of town so a pie for breakfast seemed in order along with a couple of boxes of frozen to go! They have lots of good souvenirs and gifts, a host of wines and beers, and a bakery. I'm sorry to see that your experience left you wanting something a bit more, Carol.
We were told by town locals that Lasyone's is the place to go for meat pies and while you are in Natchitoches you need to order some, and that is exactly what we did. Coming up from Houma nearly every Shop Rite or Conoco had meat pies, I've yet to find any here.
