He lives and works near Portland, Oregon with his wife, Kristi, and their two daughters. Definitely a case of a trilogy being overly stretched out and it doesn’t even finish here as there’s a fifth to come. He opens up so many things in this story, such as will over animals, a new set of leaders, new confidence and problems for our characters and more twists again. He began his pursuit of each immediately.“Look at your mistakes long enough to learn from them, then put them behind you.”“It’s easier to build a new culture on the graves of the dead than around the homes of the living.” Brent Weeks is one of those writers that makes you think one thing and then not only completely turns it around but then suddenly turns it on its head a few chapters later making you just sit up and go 'NO WAY'.

idk.) He wrote on bar napkins and lesson plans before landing his dream job years and thousands of pages later. They rate based on the cover/summary or even Because several people on this site are fucking stupid and don't understand how the rating system works. It's such a mess. The end of Gavin's POV opens for a lot of great possibilities and I'm really excited for the next book!!! The emotions, the friendship, the loyalty, the hard yet right decisions, the faith, the hopes, the doubts, very present in the Blood Mirror, gave the book strength, realism, depth and beauty. The 4th book in the Lightbringer series doesn't do all that much to progress the series but it continues to envelope the reader in a shroud of luxin as the epic story builds towards its crescendo.

Nothing really happened. This lack of foreshadowing makes me think Weeks just came up with this stuff on the fly, if anyone can point some out that would be interesting to read [ In the first book she had a major role as the female lead character, then in the second Teia came out of nowhere to take over pretty much her exact role and she gradually turned evil (and really annoying) although her insights into the Color Prince's army was really interesting and provided a really cool structure to the narrative. balls to cut it down by about 90%. [ Andross being Kip's real Dad. Aah, those twists. I read it at the same time as the others but for some reason I just didn't remember this as well. Half of the pages could have been deleted and the story would remain unchanged. So, I finally finished this mess of a book.

Sadly this book is largely filler, waffle, padding and in need of an editor with (Orholam’s?) [OMG, she was unexpected !! It's fun and fast paced with lots of cool, interesting characters, well-developed plots, intriguing mysteries and some of the most unique world-building I've seen in fantasy. Still love this series - I'm surprised about how much I forgot (like all the big reveals in the Gavin scenes). This could have been good if I can only care about the characters more. We’d love your help. Published I cannot quite put my finger on it… Perhaps Brent Weeks has just grown as an author. !Okay, the re-read of this was fantastic as well, it's all making me just want the final book to see how Weeks will manage to tie everything together. I find myself constantly in awe of the storytelling and the way Weeks can weave threads together when people are all doing their own thing in the world now. I read 600 pages where people were obviously being moved into position for the final book.

Each of the five books in his Lightbringer Series made the NYT list as well, starting with The Black Prism in 2010. As someone else has noted, on Kindle the story finishes at 88% too with the rest a glossary of terms which could easily have been put online instead. Brent Weeks (born March 7, 1977) is an American fantasy writer. Readers are in safe hands. Find all the books, read about the author, and more. This is easily my favorite book in the series so far and it has set up the series finale perfectly. [ That ending though!!!!
